My Story... So who am I??
This has been the very question that started me on my journey into health and wellness.
For as long as I can remember I have searched for this, constantly looking for my passions, my purpose in life and ultimately wanting to discover who and what I was about.
I found alot of varied, new and interesting things to undertake and to learn. My passion for learning evolved into something that I wanted to then share with others.
After having my 2 amazing kids, I found myself feeling as if I wanted more, I knew that I had more to offer and to give …surely there was something else I was made of..?
This led me to further studies where I found an interest in the human body due to personal challenges that I had encountered in my health. I found myself facing a range of womens health issues from candida, UTIs, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis and after having my kids pelvic floor problems. My digestion was poor and I suffered from constipation and skin problems.
I decided to undertake courses of study about the role of physical exercise and activity on the body. I also undertook a short course in aromatherapy and a few courses in massage where I learned alot about the body systems and anatomy.
I then went on to further my education so I enrolled in a Pilates Instructor training course as well as a Personal training Certificate IV. I taught Pilates for 3 years in a studio that did rehabilitation, conditioning and strengthening for their clients. I then went on to run my own personal training business for 3 years.
I loved helping and supporting people to change their health, their lifestyles and ultimately their lives.
But a few years into that, and I was hungry once again. Hungry to learn more, I felt that there was still something missing that I had not yet discovered. Somehow, I still felt lost, not really feeling as if I had found my deep passion, and purpose. I found myself experiencing anxiety, overwhelm and lack of self belief and these seemed to hold me back from moving towards what I wanted to find.
I was deeply interested in the mind-emotional-body connection and undertook years of personal development and professional development courses, workshops, seminars, retreats to expand myself mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
I have worked closely with a spiritual, business and life coach Holly, @ http://www.hollynunan.com/coaching/ who has supported me to grow myself and find my lifes purpose. Through her spiritual mentoring I decided to undertake a 16 day water fast in order for me to try and find that deep connection to myself which I felt I had lost.
This has by far been the most significant learning curve and personal development and growth that I have experienced. Through this I rediscovered my self belief and self acceptance and found a clear vision of my passion and purpose.
I have had so many ‘a-ha’ moments which have helped me to grow into the person I am today.
Through this time, I have also expanded my knowledge in the realm of Health Coaching to offer a holistic approach to health and wellbeing by undertaking an amazing course with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
Through my studies I have learned about how to heal the body through natural and alternative methods and looking at healing through the lens of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
My other areas of expertise and learning include Iridology and Sclerology (undertaken at the Tyler Tolman Heal Thy Self Academy) where I conduct assessments on peoples eyes to identify any areas of genetic weakness, degenerative tissue, inflammation, mucous, toxicity, stress, congestion and take a holistic look at the overall health of the individual.
One of the best things that I have rediscovered through my journey is my love of writing. I have written a collection of poems and I am currently writing a book about my journey of being and feeling lost, overcoming my anxiety, fears and limiting beliefs to find my purpose and self.
My intention for this book is to help as many women (and men!) who have experienced or are experiencing this to have hope and know that they too can find their life purpose, they too can overcome their fears, anxieties and limiting beliefs.
Im willing and open to consistently keep treading this path of alternative medicine to help heal the body and if in the process I can help to support anyone else on a similar journey, then it is you who has helped me!
This is where my passion resides.
